A rosette (called struva in Swedish) is a thin, cookie-like deep-fried pastry of Scandinavian (Swedish and Norwegian) origin. Rosettes are traditionally made during Christmas time.

Carnival in Poland - the period of winter balls, masquerades, parades and games. Usually begins on Epiphany and ends on Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent and waiting for Easter.
